Fishing On The Lake

Our lake provides the perfect setting to have a great fishing experience. There are a few important bits of information you need to read before visiting Rossendale and casting off.


Terms of use

  • You must be a guest to fish on the lake

  • Dawn til dusk fishing only (no overnight fishing)

  • Barbless hooks only and no larger than size six

  • Landing nets and unhooking mats must be used on the lake

  • Only pre-prepared (shop bought) particles, nuts and pulses to be used

  • Maximum two rods per angler

  • All fish must be returned to the lakes in a timely manner

  • Keepnets to be used at fishery managers discretion

  • Take your litter away with you

  • Please keep your dog on a lead, out of the water and clean up after them

  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult over 18


Please avoid

  • Fixed rigs

  • Braided mainline

  • Leadcore

  • Live baits

  • Leaving rods unattended

  • Digging for bait on site

  • Wading


Rod licence required

Fishing on our lake requires all persons over 13 years to have an environment agency rod license which can be obtained from any post office or by visiting https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences.

  • Half day: £3.50 (morning or afternoon)

  • Full day: £5

  • Full week: £20
