    Hillside Fishery is a fishing complex situated just outside Burnley in the northwest of England.

    There are five lakes: three original lakes and two newly-dug lakes. The new lakes comprise of Bert's Pool (a specimen carp lake) and The Doughnut (a match lake).

    There is a large car park in close proximity to the ponds, making them easily accessible.

  • Towneley Park

    Towneley Hall sits in an extensive historic parkland landscape of formal gardens, woodland walks, sculpture and nature trails.

    In spring the woodlands are filled with displays of bluebells and wild garlic, which are followed by spectacular rhododendrons in the early summer and brilliant autumn foliage.

    An extensive network of well signed paths and nature trails allows you to explore Towneley’s historic landscape.

    A large adventure playground provides endless fun for children and there are good facilities for picnics by the river with a refreshment kiosk serving fresh coffee and snacks.

  • Hollingworth Lake Country Park and Visitors Centre

    Hollingworth Lake is a man-made lake which spans 118 acres. It was originally built as the main water source for the Rochdale Canal during the 19th century.

    The lake soon became an attraction for those living nearby and in Victorian times it was known as "The Weighvers' Seaport".

    Watersports: sailing, kayaking, canoeing, powerboating, windsurfing, rowing and more.

  • Hardcastle Craggs Hebden Bridge

    A spectacular wooded valley with 19th-century Gibson Mill at its heart

    A beauty spot of the South Pennines with more than 400 acres of unspoilt woodland.

    As well as being the home of the northern hairy wood ant, there are tumbling streams, glorious waterfalls and stacks of millstone grit, all crisscrossed by more than 15 miles of footpaths.

    At the heart of the woodland you'll find Gibson Mill, home to the Weaving Shed Cafe. Having no link to the national grid, the mill is unique in the UK and is the Trust's flagship sustainable building.

  • The Fusilier Museum

    The Fusilier Museum is home to the collections of the XX Lancashire Fusiliers and the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. Together they record over 300 years of history and heritage of the people who served and continue to serve in the regiments.

    The museum is made up of two main galleries – The Lancashire Fusiliers (LF) and The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (RRF). The LF gallery tells the story of the 20th Regiment of Foot and the Lancashire Fusiliers from 1688 to 1968, when they then became part of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. The RRF gallery continues the story for the Regiment right up to the present day with a closer look at more recent conflicts in Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan.
